READING

Our students are offered research-based lessons through the "Imagine It" reading program by McGraw Hill. This Pre-K through 6th grade program features systematic, explicit instruction in the phonemic awareness, phonics, and comprehension word knowledge. The youngest students "Learn to Read" with research-based strategies while older students "Read to Learn" and apply comprehension strategies independently. The students develop a strong foundation for literacy through the extensive reading of decodable text and fine literature.

MATH

The purpose of the Harcourt Math Curriculum is to treat conceptual understanding, computational and procedural skills, and problem solving and reasoning skills as equally important. Intervention components are offered to help all students meet their grade level. Assessment will be measured through a variety of tools which are consistent, ongoing and aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards.
